Winners think positively and try to find the positive in any situation. Executives have the ability to develop and trust their own judgment in their daily business and personal dealings.

Stakeholder Management

Purpose and Scope

In the past, we engaged almost exclusively in the pursuit of profit for our shareholders or in the pursuit of specific goals in the nonprofit or governmental organizations. In doing that we worried, in most cases, about the productive and optimal implementation of our resources where we thought they were needed.  In that sense, not much has changed. Except for the fact that today’s eco-system produces far more challenges than simply meeting profit and other objectives as stated by our organizations.  Specifically, given the omnipresence of social and other media in our lives, we are forced to address the fact that our actions or non-actions may impact the objectives or lives of others which are not in the circle of profit/other objectives as set by our leadership.

In fact, today we must consider that a disgruntled employee, an unrelated community leader, an unrelated group which may be impacted our work or parties who somewhere along the way may decide to object to what we are doing, can and will most likely have, impact on our projects or initiatives which exceeds and risks our project we a lot more than we were willing to accept in the past. In this course about Stakeholder Management, we learn the basic concepts of SHM and learn to prepare and plan to address these issues in our daily initiatives. Effectively, we develop an awareness and a practical way to deal with this awareness, that we work, at a minimum, not only to achieve our corporate or leader’s  objectives for us, but also at addressing all the different people or groups which have a stake in our initiative, directly or indirectly.

Writing and Drafting

Purpose and Scope

We all write. Well, or not. What’s clear is that absent the ability to convey your message in a clear, simple, comprehensible, and practical way, one may have a hard time pushing their agenda, personal or professional.  That’s what we do in this seminar.  We spend time on the following many areas making writing and drafting effective: Focus, Story/message development, coherence, correctness of language.  We emphasize clarity, preciseness, relevance, and importance, play between facts and objectives, lucidity, and logic.

Convert marginal or OK written work into a powerful and impactful one in a simple, comprehensible, and effective manner.

CEO/Leadership Skillset

Purpose and Scope

So much has been discussed about leadership and the role of CEOs in books and lectures and study courses. What we will do in the workshop is to follow the case study methodology.  We will read, review, analyze and discuss 8 different case scenarios. Each scenario will bring about a discussion of a few of the skills and capabilities needed by leaders in today’s work environment. We will attempt to introduce or increase awareness to certain skills and capabilities required from today’s leaders in leading businesses, local or global, in the 21st century. Participants will be required to participate in the discussions and make growth decisions regarding their own personal needs’ vis the general needs from leaders.  In each session we will tackle specific earning and development areas which participants will then be required to reflect on and suggest self adaptation methodologies.

Our experience is that seminary participants have become significantly more aware of their personal limitations and growth opportunities and minor changes and improvements lead to significant improvements in their daily leadership assignments and challenges.

Business Intuition

Purpose and Scope

We learn what is intuition and what is business intuition.  We then proceed to analyze through case study methodology when and how one should, and should not, use their business intuition.  In this course we try to undermine the prevalent feeling or understanding that certain “soft” methodologies, such as business intuition, have lost their place in the heavy-analytic world we live in where each decision is supported by rationale and data.  This seminar will present situations where a serious business intuition is probably the best, if not the only, course of action available to the decision maker.   We will also discuss certain methodologies that will help seminar participants to dial up their business intuition so that it can be effectively summoned at will when needed.

Return on Resources

In this ever-changing world where the only sure constant is that there will be some change impacting our way of thinking and way of doing things, having a deeper understanding of how we sometimes are pushed to rely on our self-judgment and opinion in making decisions may become extremely handy for the participants.  At a minimum, this seminar will increase awareness as to the limitation and contribution of data and analytics to our decision making, and where the soft and somewhat murky line of opinions, judgment and intuition should be triggered to help us make better or more illuminated decisions.

Emotional Intelligence

Purpose and Scope

Emotional intelligence (EQ) is a person’s ability to manage their feelings and empathize with others. In the workplace, this quotient can make or break your business. Regardless of how you define great leadership, EQ is fundamental to it. The ability to understand those around you, as well as being aware of your own strengths and weaknesses, means individuals are much better positioned to build meaningful relationships, both with other employees and with potential customers/clients.  There are five key elements to EI: Self-awareness, Self-regulation, Motivation, Empathy, and Social skills.  In this workshop, we will learn what are the five elements of EI and how we can harness our understanding of it towards making us more effective.

Knowledge is power, especially when we deal with the softer issues in management.  We will therefore attempt, at a minimum, to increase awareness; and learn tools that will improve our EI.
